SWIPE AWAY HUNGER CAMPAIGN BREAKS RECORDS, SECURES 304 DONATED MEAL SWIPES

Anchorage, AK - Seawolf Dining is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of the fall Swipe Away Hunger campaign, a campus-wide initiative to combat food insecurity among students. The campaign, which concluded on December 18, saw an unprecedented surge in generosity, with a remarkable 31% increase in meal swipes donated compared to the spring semester of 2023.

The Swipe Away Hunger campaign launched in November and garnered widespread support from students, faculty, and staff alike. Through this initiative, participants had the opportunity to donate unused meal swipes from their meal plans to help fellow students facing food insecurity.

UAA's Executive Director of Campus Services, David Weaver, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, stating, "We are immensely proud of our community for coming together to make a real impact on the lives of our fellow Seawolves. The success of the Swipe Away Hunger campaign reflects our commitment to creating a supportive and caring environment for everyone on campus."

The donated meal swipes will be distributed to the Dean of Students Ben Morton to ensure direct benefit to those in need. Seawolf Dining would like to thank everyone participating in the Swipe Away Hunger campaign. Your generosity has made a significant impact, and together, we are creating a campus community that truly cares for one another.
